About the Company and Founder

Marti Ornest received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1990 and attended Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology. From 1999 to 2003, she worked with individuals with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders and Asperger's, using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), at UCLA's Neuropsychiatric and Behavioral Health Services Clinic.

It is a fact that we live in a social world and the academic world. Social and academic skills enable each of us to communicate effectively with peer groups in childhood, teenage years and adulthood. They are key in accessing curriculum on educational, recreational, business and community levels.

Stacked Green Apples and the Alphabet

For children, teens and adults, most social skills come naturally and instinctively. For some, however, these skills need to be learned. For children, teens and adults, academic skills are obtained successfully through hard work and self-discipline. For some, however, these skills need the help of specialists who can foster that hard work and discipline. Speak For Kids was founded in order to help families to help their children and teens get the services and resources needed to obtain these skills in order to be successful and happy in life.
